Besix Group, which reported a 2022 turnover of €3.4 bn, said that the funding will allow it to diversify, through investment in proptech startups, in order to adapt to the constantly changing property and construction landscape.

Dr. ir. Thomas Vandenbergh, general manager, Besix Technology, added: ‘After having thoroughly screened the European market for experts in the field, we have selected PT1 as the perfect partner for our strategic goals of increasing our exposure to the best PropTech startups in order to adapt and explore new avenues in response to the challenges and opportunities presented by today's rapidly changing world.’

Separately, PropTech1 Ventures has made its fourth investment from its second fund in Greenworkx, a UK-based climate edtech startup aiming to build a skilled workforce for critical net-zero infrastructure and creating 10 million green jobs within the next decade.

Previously, the platform invested in proptech start-ups Climate X, Voltfang and Ontik, following the €44 mln first closing of its second fund.

PT1 has further boosted its pan-European footprint by adding its first venture partner from the Nordic region.
