PT1, the venture capital firm targeting real estate technologies, has increased its UK presence with Sally Jones as a new venture partner.
The Germany-headquartered company has made four investments in the UK since setting up in London two years ago and has a headcount of 4 full time employees in the territory.
Jones is an experienced real estate professional, having been head of strategy, digital and technology and member of the executive committee at UK Reit, British Land. She left the company in December 2022. She also served the company in different capacities, including as head of investor relations. Prior to joining British Land in 2010, she spent 10 years at confectionary giant, Cadbury, as director of investor relations and corproate communications.
PT1 said the UK’s growing significance for the company was illustrated by the increasing number of investments in startups that tackle various problems that face the real estate industry.
It has so far made investments in Desana, the flexible workspace platform, FloodFlash, a climate risk insurer, Ontik, a digital trade credit platform on a mission to turn merchants into better banks for their SME clients, and Climate X, a platform for global climate risk data analytics.
Its London base is the 22 Bishopsgate skyscraper.
The UK team is led by Kingma Ma, who was recently elected to the board of the UK PropTech Association.
