Annual Dutch real estate fair Provada, due to take place in June, has been rescheduled to November in response to the Covid-19 crisis.
Organisers of the property exhibition, which is held at the RAI conference venue in Amsterdam, said that they had decided to reschedule the event immediately 'to give our exhibitors and visitors enough time so they can plan for what is needed now and in the future for their own business operations'.
Provada was already in the diary for 16-18 June, but recent government measures for social distancing across Europe and beyond had started to place the conference in doubt. New directives introduced by the Dutch government as of 12 March vetoed any gatherings of over 100 people in the country until at least 6 April. The legislation was tightened on 16 March to shutter schools and restaurants as well.
'A lot has changed since last week,' Provada's organisers said in a statement. 'From our home workplaces, we all feel the severity and consequences of this health crisis. We understand that many people are concerned and we empathise with everyone who is struggling. It seems like at times like these we need to focus on the greater good of the world and we would like all our exhibitors to have a chance to focus on their own businesses and employees.'
The new dates for Provada are 3-5 November, as the RAI conference hall seeks to shift commitments for a variety of sectors to the second half of the year. All programmed events up until 6 April at the Amsterdam venue had already been postponed in line with government guidelines.
Provada's organisers said that the new exhibition dates would also include a project development day in collaboration with Neprom, the association of Dutch project development companies, slated for 4 November.
