The annual Provada real estate fair which was held in Amsterdam from 2-4 June attracted 22,166 visitors, close to the record number seen in 2011, the organisers said on Wednesday.

The annual Provada real estate fair which was held in Amsterdam from 2-4 June attracted 22,166 visitors, close to the record number seen in 2011, the organisers said on Wednesday.

A Provada spokeswoman described the 11th edition of the Dutch event as a ‘very optimistic fair’, reflecting current sentiment in the real estate industry.

To cater to the international visitor, Provada and PropertyEU co-hosted an International Business Forum with a programme of discussion panels and networking events to highlight trends and opportunities in the Dutch market. Like last year, Dutch housing minister Stef Blok addressed an international audience, highlighting government efforts to liberalise the social housing market in the Netherlands and open it up to foreign capital.

Provada drew 21,500 visitors in 2014, some 300 more than in 2013.

Provada 2016 will be held on 7-9 June.
