PropertyEU, Europe’s leading real estate publication, data provider and events organiser, has appointed Richard Betts as publisher of the Amsterdam-based company. He succeeds Henk Fieggen, who retains an advisory role. The appointment is effective from 1 January 2016.

Richard will combine his new role with his current responsibilities as director of PropertyEU Events. In his new advisory role, Henk will focus on PropertyEU’s wide-ranging partnerships with leading industry organisations, exhibitions and fairs.

Wabe van Enk, PropertyEU Director and Founding Editor, said the appointment marked a new era for PropertyEU. ‘We are very happy to have Richard on board as publisher. His experience and knowledge of the industry will help us expand the business and extend our reach beyond our current markets.’

Van Enk added that he and the entire team at PropertyEU was enormously indebted to Henk for his great achievement in putting the publication on the map. ‘PropertyEU is now a leading and well-respected brand in the European real estate industry and we are delighted that Henk will continue to have an important role as an advisor.’

Judi Seebus, Editor in Chief, said she was ‘very excited’ about the new appointment. ‘In the past three years, Richard has successfully established our highly successful series of real estate Investment Briefings in the leading capitals of Europe and now the US and China. We look forward to harnessing his skills, expertise and extensive network to further develop our range of products to meet the needs of our readers both in Europe and around the world.”

Richard will head PropertyEU’s team in Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt and will divide his time between PropertyEU’s headquarters in Amsterdam and London.

PropertyEU was founded in 2006 and, as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, is launching a Deal of the Decade Awards programme in the course of 2016. More details about this initiative will be released in the coming weeks.
