PropertyEU is bringing senior real estate leaders and EU policy makers together at the REALTY 2012 fair in Brussels on 22 May. The forum has been organised for the first day of the three-day fair to foster a closer understanding of the importance of real estate for Europe and help shape future regulation.
The European Real Estate Policy and Investment Forum organised by PropertyEU kicks off the first day of REALTY, with high-level presentations by Ernst & Young, the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA), the European Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles (INREV) and other market experts.
A separate session on investing in the Benelux markets will be incorporated into the forum.
The fourth edition of REALTY runs from 22 to 24 May. Tuesday, starting with the European Real Estate Policy and Investment Forum, is themed around international investors and real estate policy. Wednesday has more local colour with a focus on Brussels and the Belgian regions and Thursday looking closely at the retail market with a seminar organised by the Belgian Council of Shopping Centres and the Retail Forum Belgium.
Advanced bookings of exhibitor space at the REALTY are already running at 15% above last year's event, indicating that visitor numbers could challenge 2011's record when attendance soared by more than 40% to nearly 5,000 people over three days, according to exhibition manager Gregory Olszewski.
Olszewski added: 'We are clearly witnessing a surge of interest in exhibiting at REALTY, which probably stems from the business generated by last year's very successful show when we had a dramatic increase in the number of visitors. REALTY is also developing an expanding international dimension as can be seen in the parallel seminar programme and rising attendance of real estate investors.'
