If new issuances achieve the forecast level of EUR 531 bn this year, annual volumes will have more than doubled in the last three years. The issuance of bonds accounted for some EUR 243 bn in 2004, according to ESF, and is expected to rise to as much as EUR 530 bn in 2007.
