Prologis is to develop a distribution centre for Van Eupen Logistik, a German logistics company. The announcement follows news earlier last week that Prologis is to build a new industrial warehouse in Hamburg for Jack Wolfskin, the European outdoor retailer.

The logistics centre, which is to be built on recently acquired land close to Cologne, will provide 32,600 m2 of distribution space. Logistics provider Van Eupen will operate the space as a distribution centre for industrial and consumer goods.

The 34,000 m2 facility for Jack Wolfskin will be located south of Hamburg and will be the company's main European distribution warehouse, serving markets in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and the UK. A further 20,000 m2 of adjacent land, also controlled by Prologis, could be developed to accommodate a second distribution centre of 10,000 m2. According to the company, Prologis has signed build-to-suit agreements totaling more than 3.94 million square feet since the beginning of the year.
