Prologis is to develop a 48,000 m2 distribution centre in northeast Spain for a subsidiary of ARC International, the world's largest supplier of high-quality tableware. ProLogis expects to begin construction of the distribution center in Zaragoza next June.

Gustavo Cardozo, vice president of project management for Prologis in Spain, said that the distribution centre will be constructed using a variety of sustainable techniques to reduce its impact on the environment, including roof-mounted solar panels that generate electricity. ‘Upon completion, ARC International's distribution centre will be one of the most environmentally advanced industrial facilities in the country,’ Cardozo said.

Prologis is one of the largest providers of industrial space in Spain. The company has more than 418,063 m2 owned, managed or under development, concentrated around Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia.
