Global logistics developer and investor Prologis has signed two build-to-suit agreements for 80,000 m2 for two retail businesses in the Netherlands.
The developments will take place at Prologis Park Tilburg, where Prologis will add an extra 37,000 m2 for online retailer Coolblue to complete a 100,000 m2 distribution centre. The other project will be a 45,000 m2 expansion of Park Weststad in Oosterhout for an international retailer.
'Our success is due to excellent client service. In order to give our clients the best service, we have to be flexible in upscaling our distribution facilities,' commented Pieter Zwart, CEO of Coolblue. 'Prologis is the perfect partner to offer this flexibility. They keep thinking ahead and share our ambitions.'
Prologis said that the amount of square metres allocated to Coolblue has increased by four times in the last three years. With the current expansion, Prologis Park Tilburg comprises a total of 260,000 m2 of modern distribution facilities.
Following the extension in Oosterhout, Park Weststad will comprise 100,000 m2 of distribution space.
Prologis currently has approximately 2 million m2 of logistics and distribution space in the Benelux region as of end-December 2016.
Prologis was advised by Cushman & Wakefield and Loyens & Loeff for both transactions.
