Denver-based Prologis has unveiled plans to develop a 30,007 m2 new, state-of-the-art industrial warehouse near Rome. The ProLogis Park Anagni will be located on a plot of land the company just acquired in Anagni, some 50 km from Rome.
'We are very pleased to be expanding into the Roman market,' said Ranald Hahn, Prologis managing director in southern Europe. 'Recent public investment in the region's rail, highway and port infrastructure has prompted a significant increase in demand for modern distribution space, largely from consumer-oriented logistics companies looking to efficiently serve markets throughout the southern half of the country.'
Prologis currently operates more than 575,000 m2 of distribution space in Italy, concentrated around the markets of Milano, Bologna, Padova and Torino. Its major customers in Italy include Ceva Logistics, NYK, Geodis, ND Logistics and Indesit Group. Construction for the new facility will start in the second quarter of 2007.
