Third-party logistics services group Schenker has agreed to lease 23,000 m[sup]2[/sup] at Prologis Park Mer in France. The park is located along the A10 motorway, the main artery between Paris and Bordeaux. Schenker is to operate the space on behalf of Mitsubishi Electric to distribute heating and air conditioning systems to customers throughout France.

Ranald Hahn, managing director for Prologis in southern Europe, said: 'France is benefiting from the shift among companies to utilize global, third-party logistics providers to lease and operate space on their behalf rather than owning and operating their own warehouses. Our inventory of modern, large-scale industrial parks and strategically-located land holdings will provide us with substantial opportunities to capitalize on this trend.'
Schenker leases more than 181,000 m2 from Prologis at parks located in Asia, Europe and North America.
At the moment Prologis Park Mer contains three buildings totalling 70,000 m2 of space. In addition to Schenker, Bridgestone Europe and Continental occupy adjacent 21,000-m2 buildings at the park. Once completed, the park will comprise eight distribution facilities with 186,000 m2.
