Prologis European Properties Fund II has acquired a 23,000 m2 distribution facility in the Dutch city of Utrecht.

The fund purchased the fully leased property, Utrecht DC1, from Pronam, an Amsterdam-based real estate investment subsidiary of Sweden's Inter-Ikea. The financial details were not disclosed but PropertyEU established from the Dutch land registry that the investment volume was €13.3 mln.

Utrecht DC1, located in the Lage Weide industrial estate, is used for national distribution and e-commerce activities due to its proximity to the A2 motorway, national water routes, rail network, and rail freight container terminal.

'Utrecht DC1 meets our criteria for the acquisition of high quality, strategically located facilities in the Benelux,' said Bram Verhoeven, vice-president of Prologis Benelux. 'We will continue to seek opportunities to further strengthen our portfolio and meet customer needs through strategic acquisitions.'

Pronam was advised by CBRE and Houthoff. Prologis was advised by Lexence.
