An unnamed private investor has sold an office property in central Barcelona to another unnamed private party for EUR 29 mln. The 6,000 m[sup]2[/sup] building is let to Barcelona's Council on a lease expiring 2011. It is located close to Avenida Diagonal and Passeig de Gràcia, the most important intersection of Barcelona's Central Business District, and has 39 parking places. The property previously housed publishing group Planeta's headquarters. The seller was advised by Savills and C&W.

'German funds, which were very active at the beginning of the year, have now stepped on the brakes. We are now seeing private investors and family-run businesses taking advantage of good opportunities, and confirming that they are interested in the acquisition of good offices buildings as a defensive strategy and priority above other investments which have recently demonstrated more volatility,' Eusebi Carles of Savills Barcelona said.
