Principal Global Investors has announced two new hires to strengthen its teams in German-speaking Europe.
Daniel Maric has joined Principal to lead institutional sales for real estate in Germany and Austria. In this newly created position, he will report to Hörich and work closely with Principal Real Estate Europe management to align investment solutions with institutional investor needs across a variety of traditional and specialist sectors.
'Investor demand for real assets remains high whilst Covid-19 has reshaped occupational needs. Adding a proven expert like Daniel to our team ensures clients continue to view Principal as a strategic partner as they navigate this new world, benefitting from our experience in traditional sectors as well as specialist assets such as healthcare, hotels, and data centres,' said Andrew Thornton, CEO for Principal Real Estate Europe.
Maric came to Principal from BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management, where he was a senior sales manager for institutional clients – the same position he had with MEAG Munich Ergo Asset Management prior to working at BNP.
Principal Financial Group has also announced that Gottfried Hörich has joined the company’s global asset management business in September as a managing director to lead the distribution team for the firm’s German and Austrian client-base.
Hörich is responsible for enhancing strategic relationships in the two markets to help deliver innovative products and solutions to clients of Principal Global Investors Europe.
Hörich, who has a master’s degree in finance and economics from the University of Warwick Business School, came to Principal from Insight Investment where he led business development in Germany and Austria.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the asset management industry, including more than 10 years working with JP Morgan Asset Management in Frankfurt.
