German hotel operating group Primestar has added a third hotel to its Berlin operations after taking over Mercure Hotel Berlin Mitte.
The 120-room hotel near Potsdamer Platz and Gleisdreieck is the first joint franchise project with Accor and the first hotel in the Primestar Group under the Mercure brand.
The Primestar Group, which also has its headquarters in Berlin, already operates another franchise hotel in Berlin (Hampton by Hilton Berlin City Center Alexanderplatz) and the recently opened June Six Hotel Berlin City West, the flagship hotel of its own boutique brand June Six hotels.
The Mercure Hotel Berlin Mitte offers its guests a restaurant, a bar and a meeting room as well as modern in-room amenities.
The addition of the latest property expands the franchise hotel portfolio of the Primestar Group to 15 hotels with a total of 3,454 rooms in prime German locations.
Oliver Kupka, managing partner of the Primestar Group said: 'With the opening of the Mercure Berlin, the group is once again strengthening its presence in the German federal capital.
'Our special thanks go to Lambert Immobilien for the renewed confidence in a successful partnership.'
The landlord of the building, P&L Real Estate, is part of the group of companies of Lambert Immobilien.
