As managing director, Kupka will focus on the strategic growth of the Primestar Group with a particular focus on technology and finance complementing the leadership team around founder Andreas Erben.

Said Erben: 'We have used the last challenging year to further reposition the company for growth as already announced in June 2021. With its existing hotels in German A-cities we are firmly convinced that the group is well positioned for the forthcoming recovery period.

'The repositioning of the group around the strategic areas of technology and digitalisation as well as the establishment of an own brand focusing on long-term stay and work space will enable us to come out of the crisis even stronger addressing the requirements of a new market environment.

'I am pleased to welcome Mr. Kupka and look forward to an exciting partnership capitalising on his leadership experience in the areas of technology and finance.'

Said Kupka: 'I am excited about the new leadership task for the expansion of the Primestar Group around the important strategic pillars of technology and own hotel brand while further strengthening the group’s existing franchise segment.

'The new market requirements post-Covid have accelerated the importance of digitalisation and technology as well as multi-use concepts around work space and long-term stay.'

The existing portfolio comprises 2,806 rooms in Germany’s A-destinations and will increase by another 528 rooms to a total of fourteen hotels with 3,334 rooms in the first half of 2022.
