Europe's largest private equity firm Premira has acquired Hayley Conference Centres for £358 mln (EUR 528 mln) to expand its Principal Hotels business, Bloomberg has reported. Permira bought Hayley from its managers, who were backed by 3i Group, according to an emailed statement from the London-based firm on Friday.
The acquisition adds nine locations in the UK and France to its eight existing hotels, which also include two recent acquisitions, it said in the statement. Permira started building its own hotel and conference facilities chain in September after it lost out in a takeover battle for De Vere Group Plc last year. It bought six hotels eight months ago for £100 mln form Principal Hotels, Bloomberg said.
