Experienced banker Alberto Rossetti has been appointed chairman of Italian real estate company Prelios SGR.

Experienced banker Alberto Rossetti has been appointed chairman of Italian real estate company Prelios SGR.

Prelios SGR's shareholders approved the appointment of Rossetti to replace Prof. Ferro-Luzzi who passed away.

Rossetti started his career in 1973 at Banca Nazionale del Lavoro in Rome. In the 1980s he was nominated Commendatore dell’Ordine Al Merito della Repubblica, as a result of his work for Istituto del Mediocredito Regionale della Calabria.

In 1987 he was appointed General Manager of London-headquartered London Italian Bank Ltd., where he successfully completed the bank's reorganisation. Later he held leading roles in ABN Amro Group and Capitalia. He is currently a board member at international banks and insurance groups and collaborates with Pontificia Università Gregoriana.

Giovanni Petrella, another finance expert, was also appointed to the board.

Petrella is associate professor of economics of financial intermediaries at the faculty of banking, finance and insurance of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan) where he teaches derivatives, derivative securities pricing and market microstructure.

Prelios now has seven board members, five of whom are independent directors.
