Prelios SGR, the asset management arm of the Prelios Group, has added a collection of properties, located mainly in Rome, to its Aurora fund.
The portfolio, worth over €200 mln, was acquired from Banca di Roma's employee pension fund.
The properties include the iconic former headquarters of Banca di Roma in Viale Tupini 180, in Rome's Eur district.
Featuring nine storeys with panoramic views across Eur's artificial lake, the 48,000 m2 building has been earmarked for an extension refurbishment and landscaping which will also transform its surrounding park.
The overhaul has significant green ambitions, and will also seek to maintain the building's aesthetic contribution to the city.
Patrick del Bigio, Prelios SGR CEO commented: 'This contribution consolidates the leadership of Prelios SGR among the leading real estate asset management companies operating in Italy, also in the sphere of pension investors.
'The transaction, with a focus on Rome, also allows the Aurora Fund to complete its investment strategy with an important focus on the enhancement and repositioning of assets, as well as further consolidating the Prelios Group's presence in value-added development interventions.'
Prelios SGR completed the deal with the support of Prelios Integra and Abaco in terms of the technical due diligence, and of Legance - Avvocati Associati for the legal, administrative and fiscal aspects.
