Milan-based property services firm Prelios has strengthened its German operation by appointing Gregor Böhme as head of acquisitions based in Frankfurt.
The lawyer was previously a senior asset manager at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, based in Amsterdam, a portfolio manager at DIC Asset in Frankfort and he also worked at Vienna-based property company Immofinanz.
Nico Tates, head of investment management at Prelios in Germany, said: 'Gregor Böhme will strengthen the Prelios investment team in Frankfurt am Main with his extensive market expertise.
'His main tasks will be to identify and acquire properties for the planned Prelios retail real estate fund for institutional investors and for separate account investment management. The targeted regions for the fund are cities with a catchment area of at least 100,000 persons and Berlin.'
Prelios opened its Frankfurt office earlier this year, after recruiting Tates from Aberdeen Asset Management in December. It will provide fund management and separate account investment management services for investors who want to invest in German real estate without their own platform.
Its first planned German venture is the Prelios German Retail Property Fund Germany, which will target German retail assets with a volume of at least €20 mln and pursue a core plus investment strategy.
