Praxis has appointed Adam Isaacs and Calum Hulme as managing directors on its investments and capital markets / investor relations teams respectively, as part of a recruitment drive to accelerate the business’ growth.
These latest hires reflect Praxis’ ambitions to expand its operations into new asset-classes and markets, including central London, having traditionally focused primarily on investment opportunities in the UK regions, as well as continuing to broaden its investor client base.
Both senior hires join from Brockton Everlast where they held similar long-term roles within the London-based real estate investment and development firm.
Isaacs was most recently a managing director on Brockton’s investment team, where he spent the past decade working across multiple real estate sectors and strategies. He began his career at J.P. Morgan working in the Corporate & Investment Bank.
At Praxis, Isaacs will report directly to the company’s CEO Mark Harrison, bolstering its already best-in-class investment team as it explores new avenues of opportunity.
Said Isaacs: 'It’s an exciting time to join Praxis, who are firmly in acquisitions mode, with the resources to build on a long-term track record of delivering strong investor returns by capitalising on clear pricing dislocation as we move into a new cycle.
'With the sector undergoing significant structural change, there are attractive buying opportunities for well-capitalised and nimble investors with the ability to actively manage operational real estate assets. We have all the right ingredients in place to scale the Praxis platform across both existing and new UK real estate strategies, and I look forward to driving this forward, with an initial focus on central London in particular.'
Hulme was also at Brockton for nearly 10 years where he was most recently a managing director, with responsibilities for fund & portfolio management and investor relations. A chartered accountant, Hulme started his career at EY before a stint at M&G Real Estate.
Drawing from his experience, Hulme will work across the investor relations and capital markets teams at Praxis, supporting the business by broadening its range of capital relationships in support of a clear growth strategy.
Said Hulme: 'Praxis has established a differentiated track record of unlocking latent investment opportunities from which it has generated consistent outsized returns ahead of the market benchmark.
'My goal is to nurture the firm’s existing strong investor relationships, while helping to grow new capital relationships, leveraging the business’ success in creating value through cycles from its proven vertically integrated platform.'
James Hewitt, chief operating officer at Praxis, commented: 'These appointments demonstrate not just our ability to attract the best talent in the industry, but our unwavering commitment to exponentially growing the business at what is a very exciting inflection point in our evolution.
'The deep experience and successful track records of both Adam and Calum will be invaluable as we seek to attract and deploy significant capital over the coming years, responding to a strong pipeline of opportunities across the UK real estate market.'
Keen & Partners advised Praxis on these appointments.
