Colley will lead the group’s acquisitions and development activity as the company expands with an eye on the post-Covid market, according to the firm. He will join the executive leadership team and will report into Inbar Zilberman, chief corporate & legal officer.

PPHE develops, owns and operates hotels and resorts, the majority under the Park Plaza brand.

Boris Ivesha, president & CEO, PPHE said: 'I am delighted to welcome Jon to the group as executive vice president of acquisitions & development.

'Jon brings a wealth of experience having held senior leadership positions in hospitality and the financial sector and he will play a vital role ensuring we are well placed to capitalise on future growth opportunities.

'I am optimistic on future development opportunities for PPHE and believe we are strongly placed for when Covid-restrictions begin to ease.'

Colley brings experience in banking, real estate and hospitality development, and has held senior leadership positions at Hilton Hotels, Barclays Bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland and, most recently, Intercontinental Hotels Group where he was head of development, UK and Ireland.

Colley said: 'I’m so excited to join PPHE Hotel Group, a business with such a strong and enviable track record of success, during what is set to be a fascinating time for the business.

'Whilst the past 12 months have been challenging across the sector, I am looking forward to driving the Group’s acquisition and development activity forward and capitalising on opportunities to deliver for all stakeholders.'
