The third quarter alone saw 75,100 m2 of new retail space, including 64,000 m2 of new shopping centre space in two new assets, along with one extension, come onto the market. Both new projects are located in the Warmiñsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship, in cities smaller than 200,000 inhabitants.
These are Galeria Warmiñska (41,000 m2) in Olsztyn, which is the largest single retail asset in the entire voivodeship, and Brama Mazur (17,250 m2) - a pioneer retail scheme in E³k. In addition, two retail parks opened in Q3 - one of 5,700 m2 in Nowa Sól; and another in Kêtrzyn named STOP.SHOP. (5,400 m2).
A further 814,500 m2 of retail stock is currently under construction, including shopping centres, retail parks and outlet centres. Shopping centres account for more than 700,000 m2 in 32 projects, which include nine centres that are being extended. Approximately 80,000 m2 of new floor space in shopping centres is expected to hit the market this year (total of 345,000 m2 in 2014), with over 480,000 m2 to be completed in 2015. In addition, 12 retail parks, with approximately 70,000 m2 of space, are being developed, with the majority of them in cities of below 200,000 inhabitants.
