Polish real estate Echo Investments has announced details of its new EUR 150 mln Korona shopping centre project in Transylvania, the developer-investor's first Romanian investment.
Piotr Gromniak, president of Echo Investment, said the scheme in Brasov, is 'a real pearl of Transylvania', and one of Echo's largest projects to date.
Korona will be a modern, multifunctional shopping-entertainment centre with a total area of 153,000 m2. There will be 240 stores on 53,000 m3 of gross lettable area spread over four levels.
The retail offering includes large textile chains, sports shops, decorative and interior equipment goods, electronics, multimedia centres and service points.
The scheme was designed by Polish architects IMB Asymetria together with local Romanian architects Dico si Tiganas. Project and construction management service are provided by Romanian firm Vitalis Consulting.
The project will be marketed by Echo’s specialists in close co-operation with the Romanian branch of international agency Jones Lang LaSalle.
The project is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2009 and be completed in the second half of 2010.
