Logistics park developer and operator Pointpark Properties (P3) is expanding its Slovak portfolio with the development of a new park, Pointpark Zilina. Located near Strecno, the new distribution centre is the third for P3 in Slovakia and represents a joint venture with local project development company Optima Consulting.

The logistics park will offer 41,000 m2 of space along the planned D3 international highway, which will connect Poland to Slovakia.

'The partnership with Optima Consulting has fast tracked the construction of a new park in a growing industrial region of Slovakia. The location of the new park makes it even more valuable as it will be situated directly at the crossroads of transport routes,' said Peter Becár, P3's managing director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Construction is due to start later this year or in early 2011.

'The combination of P3's international experience in development and asset management of logistics parks together with our knowledge of the local environment provide a great opportunity to better serve end-users with warehouse premises of top European quality, a quality that has been lacking in this region,' added Michal Kozáèek, the Executive Director of Optima Consulting.

P3 is wholly owned by Bahraini bank and is currently active in 11 European countries with over 1.5 million m2 of assets in over 72 distribution buildings.
