Specialist property lender Pluto Finance has appointed Matteo Broggi as associate director of fundraising and investor relations.

Matteo Broggi

Matteo Broggi

Formerly, Broggi spent over eight years in a real estate capital advisory firm focused on raising capital for funds, joint ventures, club deals and co-investments in the UK, Europe, and the US.

Broggi supported both the fundraising processes with clients and the sourcing of new investor and client relationships globally. During his time the firm raised almost €1.6 n of equity capital from institutional investors globally.

Broggi will become associate director at Pluto, working alongside head of investor relations Robert Swift.

Broggi said: 'I am delighted to have the opportunity to join Pluto Finance in this stage of growth. The company has a strong track record and has now lent around £3bn over 300 loans with very good performance throughout its various funds.

'Pluto also has a strong, existing investor base that will assist fundraising from other institutional investors globally. Pluto plays a primary role in the real estate lending market in the UK, and I am excited to be a part of it.'

Added Swift: 'We are delighted Matteo has joined the Pluto team. Matteo brings with him a wealth of experience in real estate capital. He will be an asset to the team.'

The hire follows Pluto's appointment last month of ex-NatWest head of real estate lending Phil Hooper.

Pluto plans to increase lending to developers and investors predominantly in the residential sector, to help support the delivery of much needed housing stock across the UK.

The firm specialises in providing development, investment and bridging finance across property asset classes, with loan sizes ranging from £3 mln (€3.4 mln) to £100 mln and leverage up to 90% LTC / 75% LTV.

Part-owned by the UK’s largest private sector pension scheme Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), Pluto’s other investors include pension funds, insurers and global financial institutions.
