Emerging markets developer Plaza Centers has acquired a 17,000 m[sup]2[/sup] site in Leszno, Poland, for the development of a major new shopping and entertainment centre. This is the second acquisition by Plaza in the country since the company listed its shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in October last year.
Emerging markets developer Plaza Centers has acquired a 17,000 m2 site in Leszno, Poland, for the development of a major new shopping and entertainment centre. This is the second acquisition by Plaza in the country since the company listed its shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in October last year.
The site is located in the centre of Leszno, a city with 64,000 inhabitants, situated in western Poland. On completion, the mall will have a total lettable area of 16,000 m2 as well as 450 parking spaces, Plaza Centers said, adding that the investment volume for the project is forecast at around EUR 37mln. Construction is expected to commence in the middle of 2009, with completion planned for the end of 2010.
Plaza Centers, an indirect subsidiary of Israeli public company Elbit Imaging, said it is set to start construction on a further four shopping and entertainment centres in Poland as well as a mixed-use project in Lodz.
