Pirelli & C. Real Estate started trading today on the Italian stock exchange under its new name Prelios. The name change follows the company's separation from parent company Pirelli & C.

The Italian tyre maker is repositioning its real estate arm as a 'pure asset management company' with approximately EUR 15.6 bn in assets under management. Prelios SGR is also leader in Italy's fund management market with some EUR 6 bn in assets under management, most of which is managed through 21 real estate funds.

The new name of Prelios SPA was approved by shareholders at a meeting on 15 July. The new name blends the first three letters of 'premium' with the word 'helios', meaning Greek for sun. The new Prelios logo comprises a symbol in the form of a 'spark' positioned in superscript.
