Global head of business and investment operations at PGIM Real Estate is set to leave the business by end of the year as the veteran European property professional goes back to the classroom.

Barrett told contacts he has already begun a one-year MSc in Climate Change, Management and Finance at Imperial College London while transitioning out of the company he has been with under various guises for the past 24 years.

After a spell at accountant Arthur Andersen, he joined Pramerica in 1999 where he worked for the firm’s global merchant banking and European value add and opportunistic funds group, which he became MD of in May 2007.

At PGIM Real Estate, he took on several roles, most recently as global head of business and investment operations since January 2018.

He told contacts: ‘Wish me luck as I am going to need it going back into the classroom for the first time in 30 years!’
