Peakside Capital has named Otis Spencer, a former co-head of Europe at Heitman International, to head its Polish-based fund management business in Central and Eastern Europe.
Peakside Capital has named Otis Spencer, a former co-head of Europe at Heitman International, to head its Polish-based fund management business in Central and Eastern Europe.
The European private equity real estate investor has appointed Spencer as a managing director and president of Peakside Polonia Management (PPM), which manages a diversified portfolio of assets in Poland and Hungary.
Working alongside Stefan Aumann, a founding partner at Peakside, Spencer will be responsible for sourcing new business opportunities and further expanding Peakside’s Polish platform as well as supporting Aumann and the PPM team with the management of Polonia Property Fund I and Polonia Property Fund II.
Spencer has experience across nine CEE countries within the office, retail, residential and logistics sectors. He joins Peakside following his role as co-head/managing director of KSP Real Estate Investment Management.
Prior to KSP REIM, he was managing director/co-head of Europe and an investment committee member at Heitman International for seven years. While at Heitman Otis was based in Warsaw, from where he directed portfolio management for Heitman’s European private equity group and was active in originating transactions and capital raising. He has also held senior roles with ABP Investments (now APG), ING Real Estate and RREEF.
Peakside was established following a spin-out of the European Real Estate Principal Investments division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in September 2010. As of Q1 2013, Peakside managed 43 investments across nine different European countries, totalling over €1.8 bn in gross asset value.
