The customer is Orsa Municipality and the contract is the single biggest investment in the municipality’s history.

The new housing will have 108 apartments, of which 90 for permanent residents and 18 for short-term stays.

The facility will also house the municipality’s health care unit.

The project also foresees work on the outdoor environment, including redirecting and channeling Skyttola Creek, creating a water mirror, and adding walking and driving areas and parking spaces.

Nils Staffansson, region manager Peab, said: ‘We’re really pleased to have won the contract to build Orsa’s new assisted living facility Slipstenen. We look forward to starting up the project with its fine architecture and exciting floor plans.’

Mikael Thalin, chairman of the Orsa Municipal Board, added: ‘It feels great to finally begin construction and I really look forward to it. This is a vital investment for senior care in Orsa.’

Construction is scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2023 and is expected to be completed in 2027.
