The sale follows closely on the completion of the building, which will house the new office of broadcaster Sveriges Television.
The property also has a building permit for a 7,000 m2 site for a 'Moving MediaCenter'.
Peab acquired the Varvsstaden site from Saab in 2005. The 16-hectare site was originally part of the Kockums shipyard and is located between central Malmö and the sea.
In a separate statement this week, Peab said it has been contracted by state-owned Stockhome Fastighetsforvaltning to build the new arena at Stockholm's Globe area. The contract amounts to approximately SEK 2 bn.
Stockholm Arena will be used for football, concerts, equestrian events, exhibitions, corporate meetings and other major activities. The arena will feature 30,000 seats for football and about 40,000 for concerts. Work is planned to commence in early 2010 and the facility is scheduled to be completed during the autumn of 2012.
