Film production and distribution company Pathé has sold the properties of its cinemas in Eindhoven, Utrecht Leidsche Rijn, Arnhem and Zwolle to a Dutch family office through a sale and leaseback based on long-term leases.
Financial details were not disclosed.
Pathé Eindhoven was recently renovated and situated in the city centre. The cinema has eight screens with a capacity of between 67 and 318 seats. A unique feature of this cinema is that all the screens are equipped with Relax Seats, as well as an IMAX cinema hall and a spectacular 4DX hall.
Pathé Utrecht Leidsche Rijn is located on the 'Culture Axis' of Utrecht Leidsche Rijn and offers seven screens ranging from 144 to 668 seats. Remarkable is the cinema’s rooftop with an open view over Utrecht and possibilities for, among other things, outdoor events and film screenings. In addition, the cinema has a 4DX screen, as well as a game room by Go!Gaming
The architecturally modern cinemas Pathé Arnhem and Pathé Zwolle are located in city centres and offer great views from the upper floors. Pathé Arnhem has nine screens, including an IMAX cinema screen. Pathé Zwolle features a 4DX screen and has nine screens in total.
The seller was assisted by Cushman & Wakefield, NautaDutilh and PWC. The buyer was assisted by Van Doorne.
With 29 cinemas and a total of 245 screens, Pathé is market leader in the Netherlands.
