Portuguese shopping centre specialist Sonae Sierra and London-based Rockspring Property Investment Management have said that their Pantheon Plaza project in the central Greek town of Larissa is 85% let more than four months before the planned opening.
Comprising 27,000 m2 of gross lettable area, Pantheon Plaza will be the largest shopping and leisure in the Thessaly region of Greece and will have a view of Mount Olympus. The centre will host 120 shops, with both national and international brands. H&M; Promod, Mikyazy and Footlocker will be opening stores in Larissa for the first time. There will also be 1,500 parking spaces.
The shopping centre is owned and is being developing in partnership between Sonae Sierra (50%) and Rockspring on behalf of its client, PanEuropean Property Limited Partnership (50%). The project represents a total investment of EUR 76mln and will create 900 jobs after opening.
Sonae Sierra said the concept and architecture of Pantheon Plaza is innovative. 'With a view of Mt. Olympus, Pantheon Plaza is an authentic re-creation of the mythical ambience of the Gods and Muses, the heaven of luxury shopping in a modern sophisticated building,' said Jose Quintela, head of architecture and conceptual development for Sonae Sierra.
The project has implemented an Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 standards that allows the site under construction to evaluate, control and minimise its environmental impact. 'The implementation of this EMS has already ensured the achievement of several best practices benchmarks like the achievement of a 90% recycling rate of solid waste up to now,' Quintela added.
