Panattoni has revealed plans to speculatively develop 19 warehouses on seven greenfield sites in Sweden following a record-breaking land deal in the Scandinavian country.
The company said it had purchased all the sites in the Mälaren Valley west of Stockholm in Strängnäs, Nykvarn and Enköping, with zoning permits, for €300 mln.
Together there is potential for the development of 661,450 m2 gla of logistics space with an end-total investment value of more than SEK 10 bn (€1 bn).
Two developments will be located in Rosersberg, 30km north of central Stockholm and on the E20.
DLA Piper and WSA (Wesslau Söderqvist Advokatbyrå) provided legal advice for Panattoni. The seller was Swedish real estate owner and developer, Kilenkrysset.
Panattoni is the largest developer of logistics in Europe, according to PropertyEU’s annual report.
It says it is the largest speculative logistics developer in the UK as well. In May, the company said it had submitted plans for a 417,570 ft2 scheme at Doncaster Sheffield Airport in its latest project.
