The recently acquired project in Ospedaletto Lodigiano involves the construction of a 15,000 m2 Grade A facility with BREEAM Very Good certification, due for completion by mid-2023.

The property is strategically located on the Milan-Piacenza axis, just 30 minutes from the centre of Milan.

Also in the pipeline is a brownfield development in Scarmagno, at the former Olivetti complex, which has been abandoned for the past 25 years.

Panattoni purchased a 24-hectare plot with 86,000 m2 of gross leasable area (GLA) and where construction work should kick-off in July 2023 to be completed in 2024.

Jean-Luc Saporito, managing director of Panattoni Italia said: ‘In line with our corporate strategy, we have acquired two pieces of land adjacent to the toll booths of the main highway networks, in locations of potentially great interest to our clients, with the possibility of building up to 100,000 m2 of Class A warehouses designed to obtain environmental certification. With the acquisition of the first brownfield site in the Scarmagno area, Panattoni consolidates its presence in Italy with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of its future operations.’

Panattoni aims to implement a pipeline of projects and investments in the Italian market, both speculative and Built-to-Suit.

Earlier this year, the company opened its Milan office, headed by Jean-Luc Saporito, to meet strong demand for modern and technologically advanced logistics facilities, available off-the-shelf.
