Palmer Capital has appointed former Townsend and ING Real estate executive Nick Cooper as a director and deputy chairman.
Cooper joins Palmer capital, the London-based real estate investment and asset management group, to help oversee the growth of the business. This will entail supporting the nine UK property companies in which Palmer is a shareholder and the further development of Palmer's investment relations team. He will use his global experience to support the firm's offices in continental Europe and Asia.
Cooper was previously a senior member of the US-based Townsend Group. During his time with Townsend he lived and worked in both the UK and US and oversaw the development of its European and Asian businesses.
Prior to that, Cooper was a senior member of ING Real Estate and CEO of ING Real Estate Select, a global real estate multi-manager business which he built up over a 10-year period. He also served as chairman of the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF) in the UK.
Palmer Capital is a real estate fund manager and venture capital backer of property companies. It manages asset in the UK, Continental European and Asian real estate markets on behalf of institutional and private investors.
The firm has over £550 mln of discretionary assets under management in both listed and unlisted real estate funds. It is also a shareholder in the nine UK property development and asset management operating companies and one in Germany.
