Pan-European investment manager Palm Capital has appointed Alex Gebauer as senior partner to help build the firm’s presence in Germany, where it plans to open an office later this year.
Gebauer was previously CEO of Western Europe at Allianz Real Estate, where he spent over 13 years, overseeing the investment and asset management of a pan-European real estate portfolio worth €15 bn. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Allianz Suisse Immobilien and at Allianz Group.
Gebauer will work closely with managing partner Reda Khatim to develop Palm Capital’s institutional business with a particular focus on Germany as well as other key markets across Western Europe.
Commenting on his new role, Gebauer said: ‘I am very excited to take on this new challenge which comes at a unique inflection point of European real estate markets, driven by a general risk repricing and enhanced operational focus.
