PointPark Properties (P3) has started construction of a 6,000 m2 warehouse and distribution facility at its logistics park in the Slovak city of Zilina.

The expansion will double the existing warehousing area at PointPark Zilina.

Some 2,400 m2 of the new space has been pre-let to international logistics company Geis Group, while the remaining 3,600 m2 is being speculatively built for future clients.

Peter Jánosi, P3's head of development for Slovakia, said: 'P3’s long-term strategy in Slovakia is to expand away from Bratislava to other prime locations such as Zilina. There's a shortage of modern warehouse space in these areas so we see great opportunities for development. At PointPark Zilina we have building permits in place which means we can deliver another 15,500 m2 of warehouse space at this location within six months of signing an agreement with a client.'

The new warehousing and distribution facility will be completed in February 2014.

PointPark Zilina is located in Northwestern Slovakia, close to the Czech and Polish borders.
