Rotterdam-based developer OVG has been awarded the first BREEAM-NL new build sustainability certificate with an 'Excellent' (four star) rating. The Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) formally presented the certificate to OVG during the first day of the Provada real estate fair in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

The Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) formally presented the certificate to OVG during the first day of the Provada real estate fair in Amsterdam on Tuesday.
The distinction was awarded for the new 5,800-m2 office building OVG is developing on behalf of the Dutch heart foundation on the A12 in the Hague. Accepting the award, Marlon Huymans, director of sustainability at OVG, said: 'We promised our client the first Excellent certificate and we made good on that promise.'
In addition, Belgium-based warehouse specialist WDP scored its second BREEAM certificate with a rating of 'Very Good' for a logistics project near the south-eastern Dutch city of Nijmegen.
Flower auctioneer FloraHolland Naaldwijk was awarded a certificate with the rating 'Very good' for the expansion of its facility at Naaldwijk.
