Goss will cover servicing the firm’s existing client base, assist in the fundraising for Orion’s sixth pan-European fund, as well as executing co-investment and other initiatives, the company said.

The news follows the exit of Lisa Feifer, who spent nearly 14 years at the firm, and who started as head of investor relations at Civitas Investment Management in February.

The firm is currently in the process of fundraising for Orion European Real Estate Fund VI after its prior pan-European vehicle Orion Fund V closed at €1.5 bn in March 2017.

‘Goss’ hire will help lead Orion’s capital raising as the current higher interest rate environment creates increased value-add and opportunistic investment opportunities, in which Orion has extensive experience over multiple market cycles,’ the company stated.

She spent 15 years at Eastdil Secured in New York and London where she formed relationships with institutional investors, facilitating investments into various vehicles including commingled funds, JVs, direct asset sales, and structured transactions.

Most recently, Goss spent two years at Abrdn’s London office, where she was an investment director, responsible for diversifying the firm’s product line through JVs and club deals with an emphasis on the living sector. Goss started her real estate career in investment banking at RBC Capital Markets.

Orion recently secured London’s biggest office tenant in six years after HSBC signed a lease on its Panorama St. Pauls asset, which Orion is extensively redeveloping from BT’s former headquarters as part of one of London’s most prestigious green retrofits. Last year, Orion European Real Estate Fund V also sold the Six Senses Hotel Rome, setting a record for the highest price paid per key for a hotel in Continental Europe.

Goss said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Orion at such an exciting period for the firm as it is well-positioned to capitalize on the current market cycle given its excellent track record in executing high-return real estate investment strategies. Orion is a firm I have always admired for the team’s long tenure and strong value creation capabilities.’

Van Stults, partner at Orion Capital, said: ‘We’re excited to have Andrea join Orion as we capitalize on the compelling opportunities presented in the current market cycle. Her experience in both commercial real estate transactions and capital markets means she is uniquely well-equipped to communicate Orion’s investment thesis to investors around the globe.’

Orion was founded in 1999. Notable assets in the portfolio include office developments in London, Milan and Lisbon, the Sotogrande resort in Spain, and residential developments in Spain and Portugal.
