UK real estate lender and investor Octopus Real Estate has strengthened its care home fund management team with the appointment of Michael Toft as senior fund manager.
Toft will be taking a senior role in the care home team and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team. He has over 20 years of real estate experience and joins from Lothbury Investment Management, where he spent over a decade as an executive director and senior fund manager, managing institutional real estate funds, implementing a growth strategy and expanding the flagship fund by more than threefold.
Octopus Real Estate’s care homes team currently manages a portfolio of 77 modern, purpose-built homes, including 13 properties under construction, with a market value of more than £900 mln. Toft will become co-head of the Octopus Healthcare Fund, which continues to drive interest from institutional investors following its recent accreditation as an impact fund.
