Aim-listed Oak Holdings announced it has received planning approval for Europe's largest covered leisure development in Rotherham, south Yorkshire, England. The property development and consultancy company will team up with Skanska's UK unit, one of Europe's leading construction services groups, in the construction of YES!, a EUR 530 mln leisure, entertainment, sports and convention project .
Aim-listed Oak Holdings announced it has received planning approval for Europe's largest covered leisure development in Rotherham, south Yorkshire, England. The property development and consultancy company will team up with Skanska's UK unit, one of Europe's leading construction services groups, in the construction of YES!, a EUR 530 mln leisure, entertainment, sports and convention project .
Oak said it is planning to create more than 116,128 m2 of leisure space on a 1,323,322 m2 site. The regeneration scheme will offer a mix of leisure, entertainment, convention and sports activities under one roof and will generate permanent employment for 3,000 people as well as 2,000 construction jobs during the three-year development phase. These facilities will be supported by cafes, bars, and restaurants.
Architects working on the project are Holder Mathias Architects and CZWG Architects while Tropus is the project manager.
