Catalonia-based Nunez y Navarro has purchased Bayer's Barcelona headquarters for EUR 100 mln. The complex includes two adjacent buildings providing 9,000 m2 of office space in the central street Corcega y Pau Claris, near Paseo de Gracia.
The property will remain occupied by the pharmaceutical group until it moves to its new regional headquarter to be developed in Sant Joan Despi street in Barcelona. Bayer decided to move to a larger site to incorporate peer Schering, which it took over in 2006, Spanish newspaper Cinco Dias reported. Nunez y Navarro, a family-owned property company, said it is planning to renovate and extend the former Bayer property by adding a new building and a parking lot.
