'Nobody has had a more significant impact on the development of Copenhagen during the past 30 years than Jens Kramer Mikkelsen,' said Rasmus Nørgaard, co-founder NREP.

'NREP’s mission is to make real estate better and Kramer’s unique knowledge within modern and innovative city development will be a great contributor to bring our mission to life.'

Mikkelsen played a central role in the development of the Copenhagen model for city development, where sales and developments of publicly-owned urban land plots are being used to finance strategic infrastructure projects.

His urban development experience includes his work as Mayor of Copenhagen 1989-2004 and subsequently three years at the Ørestad development company as well as 11 years as CEO of CPH City & Port Development.

'I find it very inspiring to be able to transfer my experience from urban development in Copenhagen to other Nordic cities,' said Mikkelsen.

'During his long career, Jens Kramer Mikkelsen has created and executed visions for several attractive Copenhagen neighborhoods and we look forward to leveraging that experience to NREP's urban development projects,' concluded
Nørgaard.
