Norbert Müller is to take on responsibility for pbb Deutsch Pfandbriefbank's international customers, with a regional focus on the French, Scandinavian and Spanish markets. He takes up the new position on 1 September.

Müller joins the German lender from the shopping centre specialist and family-owned, Belgian company Wilhem & Co, where he was primarily responsible for investment and asset management.

Previously, he had worked for over 10 years at Jones Lang LaSalle where he held a number of positions, including head of the Brussels and Luxemburg Capital Markets Teams. He also held the role of managing director in Germany, where he was responsible for the business area Capital Markets and Advisory/Valuation Services, and that of International Director European Capital Markets for markets in the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, Central Europe, Austria and Switzerland.

He has also held positions at BBL (now ING) and DePfa Bank (later Aareal Bank).

With his appointment, the German lender will complete the organisation of its origination structure for real estate finance announced in March, which is specially tailored to meet the needs of its customers. In addition to Norbert Müller, Charles Balch has been responsible for international customers with crossborder activities and the UK and CEE markets since the beginning of June.

Gerhard Meitinger took over responsibility for real estate business in Germany at the beginning of May. On management board level Bernhard Scholz is responsible for both Real Estate Finance and Public Investment Finance, pbb’s second business area.
