The nominees for the 11th annual MAPIC award ceremony have been announced. The awards honour retailers who the jury considers have shown the most dynamic international growth over the previous 12 months. There are six categories: clothing & fashion accessories; catering outlets; Household and electrical goods; services; leisure and health & beauty.

The awards honour retailers who the jury considers have shown the most dynamic international growth over the previous 12 months. There are six categories: clothing & fashion accessories; catering outlets; Household and electrical goods; services; leisure and health & beauty.

The winners in each of the categories will be announced on November 16 at the MAPIC, the international market for retail real estate, in Cannes, France.

The finalists have been selected by a six-person international jury presided over by Sharon Fernandez Cavada King, the director of the retail department of DTZ asesores Immobiliarios Internacionales Spain.

Jury members nominated a foreign retail company based in their home country in each of the categories.

The nominees are:

Clothing & fashion: Jack & Jones (nominated for Spain); Okaïdi (for Norway); Geox (for Germany); Quicksilver (for France); Stradivarius (for the UAE); Tally Weijl (for Poland); Timberland (for the UK).

Catering outlets: Burger King (for the UK); Costa Coffee (for the UEA); Starbucks Coffee (for Germany); Istanbul Döner Kebap (for Spain); Mammamia (for Norway).

Household & Electrical Goods: Iittala (for Germany); The White Company (for the UAE); Zara Home (for France); Leroy-Merlin (for Poland); Bo Concept (for Spain).

Leisure: Game France (for France); Game Spain (for Spain); Go Sport (for the UAE and Poland); Smyk (for Germany).

Services: 5àsec (for Spain); Fortis Credit4me (for Germany); Thomas Cook Al Rostamani Exchange Co. (for the UAE).

Health & Beauty: Bottega Verde (Spain); The Body Shop (for France); Rituals (for Germany) and L’Occitane (for Poland).

The jury members are Alain Boutigny, chief editor of Sites Commerciaux in France; Olav Line, ceo of Steen & Strom, Norway; Stephen Pragnell, general manager of APSYS Polska in Poland; Shahram Shamsaee, vice president of leasing, Majid Al Futtaim Investments, United Arab Emirates; John A Strachan, international managing partner, Cushman & Wakefield, UK and Klaus Striebich, managing director leasing, ECE Project Management in Germany.
