European student accommodation platform Nido Living has launched its second project in Madrid and fourth in Spain with Nido Príncipe Pío.
This new flex living development follows the first launched by Nido in Valencia earlier this year. Príncipe Pío will be located in the heart of the capital and provide 636 beds aimed specifically at university students and young professionals, is open for bookings now for the new academic year when the scheme will officially open its doors.
The launch of Nido Príncipe Pío follows a €120 mln investment by Nido which purchased the high-profile building previously occupied by the Florida Norte hotel.
'Madrid offers great opportunities for growth in the sector because of the large number of students moving from their home city within the country and because it is one of the preferred destinations for international and Erasmus students,' said Darren Gardner, CEO of Nido Living, 'One of the challenges facing the sector is the scarcity of land on which to build in Madrid and Barcelona, so opening a scheme with so many places in the centre of the capital is a great opportunity to increase Madrid's prestige as one of Europe's great university cities Príncipe Pío and last month’s launch of Nido Malvarrosa in Valencia are part of our ambitious growth plan in Spain.'
Nido Living landed in Madrid last year with its first student residence in Aravaca (Madrid). This year it will continue to expand its presence in the capital with this flex living space located in the centre of the city, on Paseo de la Florida. Nido Príncipe Pío has 636 beds across 11 floors with a variety of room types.
Nido Príncipe Pío stands out for its range of services and facilities. It offers 24-hour security, maintenance, cleaning, laundry of sheets and towels and fast WiFi connection. It also has a wide variety of spaces designed to maximise the university experience, the well-being of the residents and the study environment including a fully equipped internal gym, restaurant, private dining room, study and coworking rooms.
