London-listed Mapeley has announced that Nick Friedlos, currently the company's chief financial officer, is to be appointed as CEO with effect from 1 January 2009. He will succeed Jamie Hopkins who is moving to London-based private property company Chester Properties. Hopkins will remain on the board of Mapeley as a non-executive director at mapeley and will become a consultant to Fortress Investment Group.

Mapeley said Friedlos has over 25 years of accounting and finance experience, with the most recent 10 years being within the property industry. He was most recently executive director of Derwent London and has also held the position of finance director at both London Merchant Securities and Land Securities Trillium.

Mapeley is one of the largest commercial landlords in the UK with an estate of 1,670 properties, worth more than £2 bn.
